DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT AND HANDLING MACHINES LABORATORY (NI417)

 
Laboratory is disposed in a specialized laboratory hall equipped with an overhead crane with a lifting capacity of 12.5 t.  In the hall is a modernized electricity grids adapted to power high-voltage receiving the electrical equipment. The floor is equipped with a spring steel grating. Hall is directly designed for use of heavy laboratory use - high performance test equipment, large test specimens and intensive long-term mechanical loading using electro-hydraulic, pneumatic and other devices.
 
In the laboratory is installed Test stand of braking components RAILBCOT. It is a genuine test equipment (prototype), with defined options of experimental railway research. The part of  laboratory is the new control station (control room) in which measurement and evaluation techniques are located, as well as core of information and communication bounds of the lab. The test stand is equipped with force sensors, speed sensors, thermocouples. The measurement system core consists of two data fieldbus boxes that mediates communication from test bench to the control computer.  The managing computer based on the specified ballast collection and information from state programmatically manages the activities of the propulsion electric motor, electro-pneumatic valves, actuators for modeling the travel path of wheelset and generally all the work of the bench.

The laboratory is disposed in a separate technical services. The basis of scientific - research activities in the laboratory is the inertia test bench UIC, accredited for the two types of brake tests. The laboratory is well-known to European research team, and not just European manufacturing and operators components of rail brake technology.
 
Brake position of disc brake is created by self-measuring frame imposed on the shaft and on strain gauges of tangencial crank effort. On this frame is imposed brake unit of disc brake with air brake cylinder. Compressive force of linings is measured by the strain gauge force sensor located at the connector of the brake rigging. Calibration of the tangential crank effort is measured by strain-gauge sensor is carried out using the process of assigning weights fastened on the beam inserted to excessive frame.
 
For measuring the the temperature in the disc brake is used 6 K-type thermocouples from American company OMEGA placed according to UIC 541-3. Signals from these thermocouples are routed through the ring head Höttinger and reinforced by board PCLD-889. Mentioned amplifying and multiplex board PCLD-889 is controlled at multiplex of digital signals of the measuring board PCL-816, which also handles other signals, such as modified analog signals from an optical speed sensor (rotation speed) and force sensors and pressure sensors. This plug-in measurement and evaluation board is placed in the control PC computer AT and manage an external input thyristor converter that regulates the speed of the drive motor of brake test stand. Actuator of test stand cooperates this way with the inclusion of flywheels and complements - increases the moment of inertia.
 

LABORATORY OF MEASUREMENT TECHNIQUES, TECHNICAL DIAGNOSTICS AND PROJECT PREPARATION AND IMPLEMENTATION (NJ522)
 

Laboratory for the preparation of measuring chains and testing before the implementation to testing states. Workplace for specialized preparation of Ph.D students of the Department for Cooperation with experimental work in heavy laboratories.The laboratory is also used as a specialized classroom for students of bachelor and master studies in subjects which are associated with experimental measurements, testing and diagnostics of vehicles.
 
 

 

LABORATORY OF COMBUSTION ENGINES (NI 419)

In the laboratory are installed a test stands of combustion engines. Currently are mainly used for teaching students of faculties (FME, PEDAS, and PhD), but also for our own research purposes and contracts required in practice.

 

 

MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL WORKROOM (NI407):

Workplace for the preparation of mechanical and electrical substructures, equipped with a standard workshop equipment.
